AGENCY HISTORY
Established in 1978, Kelsch Associates, Inc. is a private social service agency providing residential and day program services to developmentally disabled adults. Interest in the developmentally disabled originated from having two family members with special needs. We serve adults ranging in age from young to middle-aged to geriatric. The individuals have a broad range of social, vocational and residential skills and have varied and multiple types of disabilities, including: mental retardation, deafness, blindness, cerebral palsy, epilepsy and paralysis.
AGENCY MISSION STATEMENT
At Kelsch Associates, Inc., our primary responsibility is to meet the needs of each individual. We are an individual-oriented agency that promotes independence. Our approach focuses on normalization and decision-making based on the best interest of each individual. We would like to serve more individuals similar to those we presently serve. Our experience and flexibility enhances our ability to effectively serve individuals with varied and multiple needs. A strong administrative team provides support and training to assist the staff with enhancing the quality of service. A copy of our agency philosophy is available upon request.
SERVICES
Residential: 16 residential sites include group homes, modified group homes (located in apartment complexes, which provides the privacy, independence, integration, and opportunity of an apartment program while providing the supervision and security of a group home), and supervised apartments; and 6 supportive living sites (located in CamdenCounty). Currently serving 178 individuals throughout Burlington, Camden and GloucesterCounties.
Day Program: 2ATS programs based in Burlington and Camden Counties, serving individuals in Burlington, Camden and GloucesterCounties.
Family Support: Services developed based on the needs of the individual.
Recreation: Phillies, Flyers, Eagles, and 76ers games, trips to the shore, museums, zoo, Special Olympics, restaurants, malls, and Susquehanna Center Concerts; in-house activities include videos, music, games, crafts; weekly “Rec Night” includes bingo and movies; annual summer picnic and December holiday party.
Education, Employment and Training: Within the framework of our philosophy, we encourage activities that promote developing daily living (e.g., counting, reading, identifying letters, numbers, coins, bills, budgeting, public transportation, and community awareness and career planning skills).
